When discussing about one of the principles of governance "Work for reward, reward for work", I tried to elicit what kinda society we are in.

Mr Ng: Yes! Work for reward, reward for work! Singapore is a what type of society? Starts with the letter... *interrupted*

Student: Pet society!!!!

Mr Ng: Obviously some of you facebook too much......................

For the record, it's meritocratic society lah!
Singapore is based on meritocracy.
